Lisa Kasanicky, author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Girlfriend Getaways and founder of Arizona Spa Girls, is a girl after our own heart.Not only does she like traveling with her girlfriends as much as we do, she shares our obsession with lip balm, dry shampoo and Trader Joe's Thai Chili Lime Cashews!

Lisa's last trip was to her home town of Orlando, Florida, which she says was "a whirlwind of family, friends and one spectacular day boating along the Gulf Coast of Sarasota and digging out live sand dollars from the sand with our toes (and throwing them back in of course!). Next up is a road trip to Sedona, Arizona with the girls. Can't wait!

Denverite Heather Benes’ idea for a better tote bag was hatched while on vacation with her family. She found herself once again digging in her beach bag in search of toys, sunscreen or something one of her children requested. "It was like a black hole. I said, ‘I hate my bag,’ and my friend said, ‘Then design one.’ " So Benes did, and now the mother of two children ages 5 and 7 is marketing “LTD,” which stands for “living the dream.” The bag, in clear PVC and leather, has built-in compartments for items like sunscreen and a cellphone. LTD also includes a sunglass case, snap-in personal bag, and sand bag for wet items. A bottle opener is attached to the strap. The bag can be cleaned with a damp cloth and lies flat in a suitcase. It’s also good for the gym. “I tried to make it convenient for mothers and all the things we carry: phones and cameras, makeup, money,” she said. “And you can look through it and see things like the kids’ goggles. I wanted something that was convenient, affordable and cute.” The tote, $78, is sold at Blu, 3201 E. Second Ave.; Swim’n Things, 5494 E. ‘LTD’ stands for “Livin’ the Dream”, which is a slightly sarcastic saying that Heather and her husband use to describe their busy lives managing careers, social calendars, two young boys and two rowdy dogs. “I was getting so sick of dumping my black-hole of a beach bag every time my kids or husband needed something” says designer Heather Benes “when it just hit me that I could design the perfect beach-bag myself.” Even though the inspiration for this bag was “all beach”, the LTD bag is great for several other daily uses. It is large enough to fit a tennis racquet or yoga mat and even serves well as a weekender or carry-on travel bag.
